i have to be honest in how long i contemplated the new lock on the old chains, and the fence that seemed to house a small corner of Narnia itself.
there was a hole in the fence and i would have climbed through, but it was so muddy and i was wearing my white ked-like shoes that I purchased from wally’sworld for five bucks. i like ‘em lots.
so for now, i will let the imagination take me away.

after returning the tablecloths from my sister’s wedding
(which happened a year ago…)
i believe i shall purchase some manhattan bagel,
and maybe some lipstick.
i need something remarkably red and long-lasting.
then i will drive to what i have affectionately deemed to be my lake.
it is a place that allows me to believe everything will be alright—
so i may continue holding on to this hope that one day this will be made right.
my lakeside activities will include conversations with a most beautiful Jesus.
it is His responses on which I will lay the course of the rest of my day.
i may also take some photographs,
for i am dusting off the wide-angle today.
upon returning home,
i’d like to begin my project of painting the likeness of the world on the wall of my place of respite.
as the day wears on,
duty shall call,
and off to work i shall go.
but until then,
i would just like to rest in the peace of a beautiful day,
another day given to me to breath, live, and love.
